If you could build the club of your dreams, what would it look like?

Perhaps it would have a world-class championship course. A beautiful setting. Globally inspired cuisine served amidst fantastic art and soulful music. People you genuinely enjoy being around. A place where you could walk through the door and immediately feel at home.

For our founder, Pat Hamill, that question became more than a daydream.

After decades spent building communities across Colorado through Oakwood Homes, Pat had developed a deep understanding of what makes a place feel like home. Alongside that career, golf had always been a constant. He became Chairman of the Colorado Open Golf Foundation, created the now-Carmel Classic Invitational at Pebble Beach, and served on the boards of the Colorado Golf Association and the USGA. In 2024, he was inducted into both the Colorado Business Hall of Fame and the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame.

Over the years, Pat had experienced some of the very best that clubs had to offer.

He remembered the moments that stayed with him: A spontaneous singalong around the piano at the Carnegie Club in Scotland. A locker room attendant in Colorado who knew everyone's name and made it his business to connect people. The Dunes Shelter at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, where impeccable service somehow felt completely effortless.

Different places. Different people. Different experiences.

But they all had something in common: they were easy, welcoming and fun.

Pat began to wonder what would happen if you took all the things he loved and brought them together in one place.

Not simply a golf club, but a place for friends and for the friends you have yet to meet. Somewhere you could play a world-class championship round of links golf, linger over lunch, spend an afternoon by the pool, gather for dinner or simply drop by because you knew someone would be there.

The idea was taking shape.

All he needed was the right piece of land.

Then he found it.

On the high plains southeast of Denver, with the Rockies stretching across the western horizon, the property offered something rare: open space, dramatic natural contours and the freedom to create a championship golf course that felt as though it had always belonged there.

All this, and enough room to build more than a club — a community, with residences and gathering places woven into the landscape.

This would be Bluebird.

A place built around great golf, yes, but ultimately, a community built around people, music, art, connection — and the simple pleasure of being together.
